NCC of KCT

NCC at KCT was incepted during the year 1998 and now around 160 NCC cadets are functioning at KCT. Few of the KCT NCC cadets had successfully followed their dreams and are serving for the nation in Army, Navy, Air Force, etc. NCC at KCT enables the leisure time of youth to be utilized towards constructive activities such as wholesome creation, wide culture sympathies, abiding by social consciousness and working for the nation. The NCC at KCT renders a significant service in all the above aspects. Serving in NCC for two years and obtaining ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates enables the students to pursue their career in any one of the Armed Forces as an officer through Short Service Commission directly.

National Cadet Corps – Army Wing (Boys)

NCC Army wing at KCT was established in 1998 with 52 cadets 4TN(BN), NCC ARMY WING, Coimbatore.

NCCC Army Wing Boys, who are the shooting stars, was implemented in 1998 which also has the pride of being the senior most wing and this constructed a platform for NCC in KCT. The wing is brought up by the unit 4(TN) BN NCC (infantry). The army wing boys is lead by our ANO Lt.A.R.Arul. The wing is well built with 52 cadets.

National Cadet Corps – Army Wing (Girls)

NCC Army wing at KCT was established in 2006 with 52 cadets under 5TN girls Bn. NCC ARMY WING.

We the 5(TN) girls BN NCC presently have 34 successful cadets of the year 2 and 3. We were trained hard to be successful in our journey. We are exposed to a regimental way of life which is essential to inculcate the values of discipline, duty, punctuality, orderliness, smartness, respect for the authorities, correct work ethos and self- confidence.

National Cadet Corps – Air Wing

NCC Army wing at KCT was established in 2001 with 51 cadets under 5(TN)AIRSQN(TECH) NCC AIR WING: Coimbatore.

Since its establishment in November 2001, NCC Air wing has stood-apart in its code and conduct from the commons. Our unit, 5 (TN) AirSqn (Tech) NCC is based in Salem and as the name suggests, we are a technical branch specializing in the engineering behind aircrafts. At present, the wing is well-bound and strong with a strength of 50 cadets, including SW.

“I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Crops. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly”.

NCC Pledge

“We the cadet of the national cadet corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India .We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizen of our nation.We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings”.

Process

Once the notification for enrolment is announced, the aspirants are expected to appear for selection and are then enrolled in the process.
The selected cadets are then required to be punctual for parades once they’re announced.

Training

Institutional training includes drill, weapon training, civil defense, health and hygiene, lessons in leadership, and Aircraft subjects like flight principle, aircraft design,etc.
Camp training involves collective training, where the cadets rough it out in the open. This gives them a sense of unity and co-operation inculcating comradeship in them.

Rules

The cadets are expected to show volunteering quality, which is the prime most requisite in NCC.
The cadets should preserve their enthusiasm during their whole period in NCC. It is this which discriminates aspirants from others, especially when it comes for defense forces.

NCC inculcates the sense of patriotism towards the Nation among the student community through the disciplined and ordered path and in the process, produce valiant soldiers of tomorrow. NCC at KCT inspires the student community of the Engineering stream about the legacies and valor of the Indian Armed Force, instill the necessary technical knowledge and provide a platform for aspirants, raring to touch the Sky with Glory.
